Broken Scooter

Autumn of 2015, sometime around October.  While I was riding to work, I felt a pop under the seat of my scooter.  The bike slows down, no acceleration, engine was fine.  Immediately I knew that the transmission was busted.  Stuck on the side of the road, I called my friend Carleen and her husband who came to my rescue.    A few weeks later my sweet friend, Robert Bendix came by and opened the transmission cover, sure enough, exactly what I expected, the belt popped, it was in pieces.

The replacement belt arrived a few weeks later, perfect match, beautiful thing.  Months later, I finally find the time to look under the hood with an attempt to put the new belt in place.  Well, come to find out, my poor baby scooter that I call "Baby Sunny" has bigger problems.  Here are a few videos with the current situation.  I am going to have to order a new gasket for the casing.  Then, figure out how to put it all back together.  At the same time, the bolt that holds the trunk lost the nut.  Yeah, sounds a little corny, but yes, the nut that holds the bolt unscrewed itself and fell off.  As a result, the trunk is barely attached from one side.  I tried to put a bolt in its place, there is no way that I can get it in there without the taking the entire fairing off.  It is all plastic and very hard to snap off.  It was all connected at the factory in China.  It is placed perfect, they did a beautiful job.  However, I am a bit concerned that when I take it all off, I will not be able to snap them back on. I love my little scooter, it give me 109 miles per gallon.  I just wish it was easier to get the parts when it needs to be fixed.  No wonder I cannot find a scooter mechanic in my town for Chinese motorcycles!!!!

Here are a few videos of the current problem, argh!!!
It can be fixed, I will get it done........ stay tuned.
